The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. The journal follows the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to prevent plagiarism and ensure that all published research is authentic, ethical, and original.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin before they proceed to the peer-review process. Authors are required to submit a Turnitin Similarity Report along with their manuscript at the time of submission. The Editorial Office independently evaluates the similarity report to determine whether the manuscript meets the journal's originality requirements.
Authors must ensure that:
The manuscript is original and unpublished.
A Turnitin Similarity Report is submitted with the manuscript.
All borrowed material is properly cited and referenced.
Appropriate permissions have been obtained for copyrighted content.
The manuscript complies with the journal's plagiarism policy.
The Editorial Office carefully examines similarity reports for plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, excessive text overlap, and other forms of academic misconduct. A high similarity score does not automatically result in rejection; each report is evaluated based on the nature and source of the matched content.
Where necessary, the journal may:
Request clarification from the authors.
Require revision to reduce unacceptable text overlap.
Request additional supporting documentation.
Reject manuscripts that violate publication ethics.
The journal reserves the right to conduct plagiarism checks at any stage of the editorial or publication process, including after publication if concerns are raised. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct may be rejected, corrected, or retracted in accordance with the recommendations of COPE and ICMJE. Through a rigorous plagiarism screening process, the Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) safeguards the originality, credibility, and integrity of the scientific record.
