Guide for Reviewers

The Journal of International Marketing and Marketing Research (JIMMR) follows a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original, and impactful research. Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the academic integrity and scholarly standards of the journal.

Role of Reviewers

Reviewers are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts based on their originality, relevance, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field of marketing and related disciplines.

Review Model

JIMMR follows a Single-Blind Peer Review process, where:

  • Reviewers know the identity of the authors
  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers

Review Criteria

Reviewers should assess manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty of the research
  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Clarity of research objectives
  • Quality of literature review
  • Appropriateness of methodology
  • Accuracy of data analysis and results
  • Contribution to theory and practice
  • Quality of writing and presentation

Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use the content for personal advantage.

Objectivity and Fairness

Reviews should be:

  • Objective and constructive
  • Free from personal criticism
  • Based solely on academic merit
  • Supported with clear reasoning and suggestions

Timeliness

Reviewers are expected to complete their review within the given timeframe, typically 2–4 weeks, and inform the editorial office promptly if additional time is required.

Ethical Responsibilities

Reviewers must:

  • Disclose any conflict of interest
  • Avoid reviewing manuscripts where a conflict exists
  • Report any suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical practices
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism throughout the review process

Review Recommendations

Reviewers may recommend:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revisions
  • Major Revisions
  • Reject

Clear justification must be provided for each recommendation.

Constructive Feedback

Reviewers should provide detailed comments to help authors improve their manuscripts, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses.
